  • Development of Best Practice Guidelines for implementation of grid connected wind energy projects in Australia, a project for which the Australian Wind Energy Association (AusWEA) which received funding from Australian Greenhouse Office.
  • Development for the Queensland EPA of guidelines for contractors seeking to pre qualify as installers of Remote Area Power Systems at remote working properties under the State’s Working Properties Rebate Scheme (WPRS).


Demand Side Management

  • Review of proposal for Demand Side Management initiatives (including district cooling based on thermal storage technology) for Lavarack Barracks, Townsville.
  • Identification of barriers to Demand Side Management technology in high rise accommodation facilities on the Gold Coast – National Consumers Advocacy Panel.
  • Investigation into Demand Side Management options for rural power on behalf of Qld EPA.
  • Survey for NSW Government into opportunities for Contract Energy Management and assessment of responsiveness of large energy consumers to the model.

 

Green Buildings and Sustainability in the Built Environment

  • Strategic ESD advice on Environmental Resorts including evaluation of power and water infrastructure options, building design and minimising end user demand through appropriate equipment specifications.
  • Design and documentation of electrical infrastructure services, standby generation facilities, gas reticulation, hot water heating options and advice on energy efficient loadings associated with ecologically sustainable urban development
  • Co founder of EcoVision Solutions, a green technology company established in 2004 to develop cooperative resource management systems for small commercial and residential application (www.ecovisionsolutions.com.au ).
  • Evaluation and recommendations on ESD initiatives for Green Star accreditation of commercial and institutional buildings.
